Mr. Bob Estes, 80, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, October 6, 2013, at his residence in Noxapater, Mississippi. Visitation will be at Nowell-Massey Funeral Home in Louisville on Monday, October 7, 2013, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 8, 2013, at Noxapater Baptist Church with Rev. Trent Bilbo and Bill Barnes officiating. Interment will be in Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery.
Bob was born on June 17, 1933, to Littleton Worthy and Lottie Craig Estes. He was ordained as a deacon in 1980 serving in that capacity first at Calvary Baptist Church and he was currently serving as a deacon at Noxapater Baptist Church. Mr. Estes served in the United States Navy from March 1956 to October 1957. He worked at Taylor Machine Works retiring after 39 years of faithful service. He then worked part-time for 10 years with the Mississippi Game and Fish Commission at the Nanih Waiya Wildlife Management Area until he became disabled due to his illness in January 2013.
Mr. Estes is survived by his wife, Faith Estes, of Noxapater; his daughter, Lisa Hill and husband, Jeff; and son, Joey and wife, Mindy, all of Louisville. He is also survived by his sisters, Jean Woodruff of Louisville and Elsie Carter (J. C.) of Noxapater; and by his brothers, Jerry Estes (Ilene) of Louisville and Dee Estes (Patti) of Prentiss, Mississippi. Bob has five grandsons: Brad Hill, Jason Hill, Brandon, Estes, Jared Estes, and Charner Estes, and one granddaughter, Leslie Estes. He also has a great-grandson, Aiden Hill. Mr. Estes is preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Maxine McCool; and two brothers, Wayne and M. O. Estes.
Pallbearers will be Brad Hill, Brandon Estes, Jason Hill, Jared Estes, Charner Estes, David Wells, Hal Estes, and Patrick Estes. The family requests that memorials be given to Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, c/o Jo Ellen Johnson, 4109 Old Robinson Road, Louisville, MS 39339. Services are under the direction of Nowell-Massey Funeral Home, 724 North Columbus Avenue, Louisville, MS.
