Mrs. Agnes Bridges, 94, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Monday, October 28, 2013, at Baptist Medical Center in Jackson, Mississippi. Visitation will be Nowell-Massey Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 29, 2013, from 1 p.m. until service time. Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 29, at Union Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Ron Gomillion officiating. Interment will be in Union Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Bridges was born August 28, 1919, to George Miller and Lura Estella Hickman Farish. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Louisville and she was a homemaker.
Mrs. Bridges is survived by her daughters, Diane Hartness and husband, Larry, of Madison, Mississippi, and Roma Gore and husband, Gary, of Waynesboro, Mississippi. She is also survived by her grandson, Baxter Bridges Hartness; a special great-nephew, Neal Iverlett, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Romeo Cecil Bridges; her parents; her brother, Robert O’Neal Farish; and her sister, Ruth Farish Wilson.
Serving as pallbearers will be Tommy Jefcoat, Bud Varner, James Humphries, and Arthur Lee Hartness. Memorials may be given to Union Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, c/o Jamie Clark, 1629 Johnson 5 Road, Noxapater, MS 39346.
