Darwin was born on February 12, 1947, to L. E. and Eunice Riddell Harlan. He loved spending time outdoors fishing, tending to his garden, and creating beautiful woodwork and crafts. His hands were always busy, whether shaping a piece of wood or nurturing the plants he cared for. Above all, Darwin dearly loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them.
Darwin is survived by his loving wife, Helen Mauer Harlan; his daughter, Samantha Ann Harrell and her husband, Michael, of Louisville; his son Orville E. Harlan of California; and his brother, Sherrill R. Harlan of Louisville, MS. He also leaves behind one grandson, William Henry Harrell, who lovingly called him “PaPoo”; and his nephew, Jason Harlan and wife Jessica. He was preceded in death by his parents and his infant brother.
