Betty J. Parker

Betty J. Parker, 82, passed away on Thursday, March 13, 2025, at the Winston Medical Center Nursing Home in Louisville, Mississippi, with her loving family at her side. Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Sunday, March 16, at Hight Assembly of God Church in Noxapater, Mississippi, with Bro. Tom Bentley officiating. Visitation will be the day of the service at the church from 1 p.m. until service time. Interment will immediately follow the service in Hight Cemetery.

Betty was born June 17, 1942, to Clyde “Billy” and Mary Sue Gregory Holder in Winston County, Mississippi. She is a member of Hight Assembly of God Church. Betty faithfully served as a pastor’s wife as her husband ministered in Winona, Mississippi, before locally serving 14 years at Indian Springs Assembly of God Church. She was an outstanding cook; and she especially enjoyed cooking Sunday lunch for her family.

Betty is survived by two daughters, Renee Smith of Noxapater; and Brenda Powell (Hank) of Philadelphia, Mississippi. One of her greatest joys was being “Granny” to her six grandchildren: Mandy Jordan (Cory); Chasidy Wells (Nathan); Trent Smith; Megan Moody (Hailey); Hope Smith; and Dalton Powell; as well as her seven great-grandchildren: Paxton Jordan, Knox Jordan, Banx Jordan, Jaxon Moody, Adalyn Moody, Wyatt Wells and Blakely Wells. She also leaves behind her sister, Kitty Spears (Jessie); and her brother, Travis Holder (Bobbie); in addition to her loving nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends. Betty was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Bro. Oneal Parker; her son-in-law, Jimmy Don Smith; her parents; and two brothers, Ralph Holder and Henry Holder.

Serving as pallbearers are Hailey Moody, Cory Jordan, Nathan Wells, Dalton Powell, John Spears, and Dennis Reed. Memorials in honor of Ms. Parker may be given to Hight Assembly of God Church, Missions Fund, P. O. Box 305, Noxapater, MS 39346.
