Kathryn Hurt was born on June 21, 1951 in Macon, MS to the late Robert R. Strait and Elsie Otis. She was a native and lifetime resident of Macon, MS and graduated from Noxubee County High School and attended Mississippi State University. Kathryn worked for her father in his fertilizer business and then went on to work for the Mississippi Food Stamp Commission as a clerk. She was the past president of the Macon Junior Auxiliary and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Macon, MS. She enjoyed reading and was an avid Mississippi State University football fan.
Kathryn Hurt is survived by her husband, Bill Hurt; her son, Joseph Neal Hurt of Macon; her daughter, Ruby Mills Campbell of Meridian. She is also survived by her two beloved grandchildren: Samuel Hurt and Jolie Hurt. And a brother, Jimmy Strait, Jackson, TN.
