Deborah Dee Doster Barlow, 65, is resting in the arms of Jesus as of Tuesday, October 25, 2022. Debbie was born June 20, 1957, in Athens, GA, to Layton Brown and Glennie Pittman Doster.
Debbie dedicated her entire adult life in service to French Camp Academy, a Christian boarding school. She first served as a houseparent for many years before transitioning to the role of Assistant to the Director of Student Life. She and her husband of 47 years, Glen Barlow, were active members in the community, and she worked tirelessly to support her husband in his role as Mayor of the town of French Camp. Debbie was an active member of the French Camp Presbyterian Church and Itta-Bena/Morgan City Presbyterian Church. Debbie's talents for preparing meals and serving others with blessings through food will be treasured by many. She was well-loved and loved well.
Visitation will be on Friday, October 28, 2022, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the French Camp Presbyterian Living Stones Building in French Camp, MS, and Saturday, October 29, 2022, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:15 p.m. at French Camp Presbyterian Church.
Celebration of Life services will be held on Saturday, October 29, 2022, at 2:30 p.m., at French Camp Presbyterian Church in French Camp, MS, with Rev. Alex Coblentz and Rev. Randy Bridges will officiate. The burial will follow at French Camp Cemetery in French Camp, MS. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Kade Barlow, Holt Barlow, Dakota Barlow, Knox Barlow, Grayson Geiser, and son, Jason Geiser.
Debbie is survived by her husband, Glen Barlow of French Camp, MS; her children, Glen Allen & Sarah Barlow of Olive Branch, MS, and Jeremy Scott & Tonya Barlow of French Camp, MS and Jason & Jennifer Lynn (Barlow) Geiser of French Camp, MS; her grandchildren, Kade, Hayley, Holt, Dakota, Macy, Knox, Elly, Grayson, and Livvy. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Pete Doster, her granddaughter, Gracey Lynn, and another mother, Big Mama Barlow. Debbie, also, leaves behind a host of honorary children and grandchildren from her years of service at French Camp Academy.
The family is asking, in lieu of flowers, for any donations to be sent to French Camp Presbyterian Church in memory of Debbie Barlow. All donations in her honor will be used to purchase new appliances for the kitchen at the Camp of the Rising Son, to continue her love of blessing others with food.
