Naomi Hardin

Naomi Hardin, 96, passed away Wednesday, January 5, 2022, at Winston Medical Center Nursing Home in Louisville, Mississippi. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 10 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Louisville with Father Darnis Selvanayakam officiating. Visitation will be the day of the service from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Nowell-Massey Funeral Home. Interment will immediately follow the service in Memorial Cemetery.

Naomi was born December 14, 1925, to Therman and Lear McLemore Pope in Neshoba County, Mississippi. She was an active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church until her declining health prevented her from participating. Naomi was a loving, caring friend to everyone and was both a good listener and very encouraging to others. She was an avid outdoors person; she enjoyed gardening and working in her flowers including transplanting them to start new beds. She was an awesome cook and dearly loved her grandchildren.

Naomi is survived by two sons Fred “Sonny” White and wife Jennifer and James Stephen White and wife Linda all of Louisville. One of her greatest joys was being “Momma White” to her six grandchildren: Margaret (Ed) Moore, Kathy (Glenn) Swope, Lee (Vivian) White, Dan (Lynn) Ware, John (Joyce) Ware, and Kiley White. She also enjoyed spending time with her 12 great-grandchildren: Charles Moore, Robbie Moore, Hensley Fortenberry, Woodson Fortenberry, Patrick Fortenberry, Madison White, Kile White, Jessica (Ryan) Neal, Addison Ware, John Brent Ware, Laken Ware, and Shalee Britt and her great-great-granddaughter Hadleigh Neal. Naomi is also survived by two sisters Genevia Wedgeworth and Libby McAdory.

She is preceded in death by her husband and the father of her children Woodrow White, husband James Keith Hardin, daughter Nona Theresa White Ware, and granddaughter Virginia White.

Serving as pallbearers are Dan Ware, John Ware, John Brent Ware, Kile White, Kiley White, and Lee White. Memorials in honor of Naomi may be given to Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 630 North Spring Avenue, Louisville, MS 39339.
