Joyce Ernestine Frasier

Joyce Ernestine Frasier, 88, passed away Tuesday, January 4, 2022, at her home in Louisville, Mississippi, surrounded by her loving family. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. on Friday, January 7 at Shiloh Methodist Protestant Church in Sallis, Mississippi. Visitation will be the day of the service from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Nowell-Massey Funeral Home in Louisville. There will be an additional time of visitation one hour prior to the service at Shiloh Methodist Protestant Church in Sallis. Interment will immediately follow the service in Shiloh Methodist Protestant Church Cemetery.

Ernestine was born April 22, 1933, to Eck and Lillie Odom in Sallis. She was a dedicated pastor’s wife ministering alongside her husband during the 64 years that he pastored various Assembly of God churches around Mississippi. Ernestine was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed working in her flowers, collecting cookbooks, doting on her grandbabies, singing and playing the piano, and gardening.

Ernestine is survived by her loving husband of 70 years Bro. William Frasier and their children: Gail (Ray) Uhrich of Jacksonville, Arkansas, Kay Ming of Louisville, Anthony (Joyce) Frasier of Waynesboro, Mississippi, and Jan (Robert) Lowery also of Louisville. One of her greatest joys was being “Mamaw” to her grandchildren: Heath (Amber) Barnette, Jarrod (Crystal) Frasier, Kyle (Lacie) Frasier, Alison (Matt) Woods, Jonathan (Jennifer) Lowery, and Caden Lowery and to her bonus grandchildren: Angie Springer, Charles (Cristina) Ming, Linda Ming, and Kim (George) Haydu. She also dearly loved her great-grandchildren: Dylan Barnette, Lakeyn Barnette, Drake Frasier, Grant Frasier, Landon Frasier, Londyn Frasier, Mason Woods, Mary Morgan Woods, and Maggie Mae Woods as well as a host of loving nieces, nephews, and friends. Ernestine was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Mable McMillon, Lerah Odom, Mildred Allen, Eddie Lee Hudgins, Rena Rutherford, and Merle Crosby; her granddaughter Amy Marie Frasier, her son-in-law Charles Ming, and her bonus grandson Doug Ming.

Serving as pallbearers are Heath Barnette, Jarrod Frasier, Kyle Frasier, Jonathan Lowery, Caden Lowery, and Matt Woods. Honorary pallbearers are Dylan Barnette, Drake Frasier, Grant Frasier, Landon Frasier, and Mason Woods. Memorials in honor of Ernestine may be given to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital online at stjude.org/donate.
