Jo Helen Todd, 75, passed away on Wednesday, July 28, 2021, at her home in Louisville, Mississippi. Visitation will be Thursday, July 29 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. and on Friday from 9 a.m. until service time at Nowell-Massey Funeral Home in Louisville. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. on Friday, July 30, in the Nowell-Massey Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Rob Faulk officiating. Interment will immediately follow the service in Beth Eden Cemetery.
Jo Helen was born February 2, 1946, to Bobby and Frankie Maddox Culwell in Louisville. She was a member of South Louisville Baptist Church. Jo Helen began her working career as a hair dresser. She also enjoyed working in the tower at Williamson and Sons Raceway in Nanih Waiya. Next, she taught three and four-year-old kindergarteners at South Louisville Daycare. For a time, she worked at TRW and later devoted 30 years to Wal-Mart after which she retired. After her retirement from Wal-Mart, she decided to pursue her favorite hobby and purchased Flowers from the Heart Florist in Philadelphia, Mississippi. Jo Helen also enjoyed cooking and she was known for her ceramics.
Jo Helen is survived by her husband of 56 years Bobby Joe Todd, her daughter Lisa Strickland, and her mother Frankie Culwell all of Louisville. One of her greatest joys was being “Granny” to her three grandchildren: Blake (Emily) Williamson, Missy (John) Williamson, and Brock Strickland; and her three great-grandchildren: John Cole Williamson, Paisley Rae Williamson, and Shelby Williamson. She also leaves behind to mourn her passing her sister Dot Eaves, her brother Jerry (Sandra) Culwell, her sister-in-law Cindy Todd, and two brothers-in-law Donnie (Kay) Todd, and Karey Todd as well as her loving nieces, nephews, and friends. Jo Helen was preceded in death by her father Bobby Culwell and her brother-in-law Mike Eaves.
Serving as pallbearers are Chris Brannon, Bobby Culwell, Jeff Culwell, Nick Culwell, Ryan Eaves, Rusty Foster, Paul McBrayer, and Randy Skinner. Memorials in honor of Jo Helen may be given to Beth Eden Cemetery Fund, c/o Shirley Livingston, 40 Livingston Road, Louisville, MS 39339.
