Charlotte Tabor Nabers

Charlotte Tabor Nabers, 58, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Friday, November 9, 2018, at Baptist Memorial Hospital—Golden Triangle in Columbus, Mississippi. Visitation will be Saturday, November 10, 2018, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Nowell Massey Funeral Home in Louisville and on Sunday, one hour prior to the service at First Methodist Church. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, November 11, 2018, at First Methodist Church of Louisville with Rev. Mike Childs officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Charlotte was born in Louisville on March 28, 1960, to William Earl Tabor, Jr. and Frances Johnson Tabor. She was a member of First Methodist Church of Louisville where she enjoyed playing in the Bell Choir. She was an avid bridge player and loved her bridge friends. Charlotte earned a Specialist Degree in Elementary Education and a Master of Arts Degree in Administration from Mississippi State University. She served in various roles during her career in education. She was the Program Manager of Safe School Healthy Children for four years; Program Manager of Building Strong Families for two years; Principal of Galloway Elementary School in Jackson for nine years; Principal of Louisville Elementary School for seven years; a classroom teacher for seven years; and Assistant Principal at Watkins Elementary School for two years. Charlotte was a member of Phi Mu Sorority at Mississippi State University where she graduated summa cum laude. She was also a member of the Mississippi Association of Educators and the Mississippi Retired Personnel Association.

Charlotte is survived by her daughter Braeden Nabers of Louisville. She is also survived by two sisters: Brenda T. Hunt and husband Richard; and Mary Tabor and husband Gary Hillhouse; her brother Bill Tabor and wife Janis; and her special friend Tim Horton all of Louisville. She was preceded in death by parents.

Serving as pallbearers are Greg Clark, Justin Hillhouse, Bobby Moore, Mark Read, Stephen Read, and Will Tabor. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be given to M. D. Anderson, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Tribute Program, P. O. Box 1000 Department 142, Memphis, TN 38148-0142, or Crosswalk Ministries, P. O. Box 625, Louisville, MS 39339.
