Clyde Johnson

Clyde Johnson, age 65, passed away suddenly on Friday, January 5, 2018, at his residence in Macon, Georgia. Visitation will be Monday, January 8, 2018, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Nowell Massey Funeral Home in Louisville, Mississippi. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 9, 2018, in the Nowell Massey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Keen officiating. Interment will immediately follow in Murphy Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

Clyde was born in Winston County on February 8, 1952, to James Henry and Betty Bouchillon Johnson. He dearly loved his wife, children, grandchildren and family; he was an avid football fan; he enjoyed traveling and site seeing; riding trains; and Professional Bull Riding (PBR). He answered the call to serve his country by serving 34 years in the United States Army. After his military retirement, he was Transportation Coordinator for Carlyle Place in Macon.

Clyde is survived by his wife of 40 years, Susan Partridge Johnson of Macon, Georgia; two daughters, Brittney Johnson Carter and husband, Shawn, also of Macon; and Brandi Johnson Sury and husband, Stosh, of Savannah, Georgia; son, Justin Johnson and wife, Ashley; his mother, Betty Johnson of Louisville; and his mother-in-law, Helen Partridge of Meridian, Mississippi. He is also survived by three siblings: Evelyn Johnson, Nez Loyd, and Johnny D. Johnson and wife, Arlene; along with his nieces and nephews. One of his greatest joys was being “Papaw” to his four grandchildren: Kinsley Johnson, Cole Johnson, Zoey Carter, and Dylan Carter. He was preceded in death by his father, James Henry Johnson.

Serving as pallbearers are Edmund Brock, Wesley Loyd, Danny Robertson, Heath Robertson, Mike Robertson, and Scott Ross. Memorial contributions in honor of Clyde may be given to Jay’s HOPE Foundation, 1157 B Forsyth Street, Macon, GA 31201.
