Pearl Thrasher, 91, passed away on Monday, March 24, 2014, at James T. Champion Nursing Home in Meridian, Mississippi. Visitation will be on Tuesday, March 25, 2014, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Nowell Massey Funeral Home in Louisville, Mississippi, and the day of the service at the church from 1:30 p.m. until service time. Funeral services will be held at Smallwood Pentecostal Church on Wednesday, March 26, 2014, at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. John Sweeney and Rev. Ronald Jenkins officiating. Interment will follow in Smallwood Cemetery.
Mrs. Thrasher was born on December 4, 1922, to Tennessee Ganey Clark and Warner Clark. She was a homemaker and a member of Smallwood Pentecostal Church.
Pearl is survived by her daughter, Betty Walters of Meridian. She has two grandchildren, Randy Walters and wife, Tammy; and Rhonda Walters; and two great-great grandchildren, Chelsea and Cassidy Walters. Mrs. Thrasher is also survived by a special niece, Connie Brewer, as well as other nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Everett Thrasher; her son-in-law, Charles Ray Walters; and her parents. She was also preceded in death by four brothers: Robert, William, Bennie and Edward Lee “Buck” Clark; and by three sisters: Jewel Clark Vowell, Lucile Clark Deason, and Eula Bell Clark Mangrum.
Pallbearers are Marty Bennett, Stevie Clark, Lamar Clark, David Weekley, Preston Weekley, and Roy Johnson. Memorials may be given to Smallwood Cemetery Fund, c/o Ronald Jenkins, 10930 Highway 427, Philadelphia, MS 39350.
