Mrs. Jimmie Ruth Edwards, 81, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, February 18, 2014, at Oktibbeha County Hospital Regional Medical Center in Starkville, Mississippi. Visitation will be at Nowell-Massey Funeral Home in Louisville on Wednesday, February 19, 2014, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, February 20, 2014, at Nowell-Massey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mike Childs and Rev. Lawrence Runnels officiating. Interment will follow in Beth Eden Lutheran Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Edwards was born August 2, 1932, to Etta Anderson Rives and James Rives. She was a member of Bevill Hill United Methodist Church and she was a retired business owner.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Henry Edwards; her two daughters, Mary Eaves and Henrietta Chancellor and husband, Mike, all of Louisville, Mississippi; her two sons, Johnny Edwards, and Bobby Joe Edwards and wife, Linda, also of Louisville, Mississippi. Mrs. Edwards is also survived by her two brothers, Robert Rives and wife, Betty, of Ackerman, Mississippi; and William “Billy” Rives and wife, Lucia, of Starkville, Mississippi. She has eight grandchildren: Robert Edwards; George Edwards and wife, Sara Catherine; Keith Edwards; Paul Edwards and wife,Kasey; Katherine Ming and husband, Dewayne; Chris Eaves and wife, Michelle; Kristi Still and husband, Kenny; and Kevin Chancellor; as well as six great-grandchildren: Toby Ming; Keely Ming; Thomas Eaves; Easton Eaves; Jackson Edwards; and Austin Still. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers; four sisters, and son-in-law, David Eaves.
Serving as pallbearers will be Randall Livingston, Johnny Bradford, Larry Massey, Steven Miller, Bachie Vickers, Tommy D. Rives, Randy Rives, and T. J. Prisock. Honorary Pallbearers will be her grandsons and Bud Harsh. Memorials may be given to the American Diabetes Association, Mississippi Affiliate, 16 Houston Drive, Suite 100, Jackson, MS 39211-3058.
