Mr. Don Horton, 72, passed away on Friday, February 28, 2014, at Montfort Jones Memorial Hospital in Kosciusko, Mississippi. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Sunday, March 2, 2014, at Nowell Massey Funeral Home. Visitation will also be the day of the service from 1 p.m. until service time on Monday, March 3, 2014, at Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church, with funeral services beginning at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Mike Dowd officiating. Interment will follow in Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Mr. Horton was born on April 23, 1941, to Elva Lou Dempsey Horton and Vernon Augustus Horton. He was a member of Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church and he served his country during the Vietnam War.
Don is survived by his wife, Pat Horton, of Louisville, and by his step-daughter, Rebecca Arendale and husband, Charles, of Pontotoc, Mississippi. He is also survived by two sisters, Ann Romedy and husband, Charles, also of Louisville; and Jean Ford and husband, Arbie, of Tennessee; and by two brothers, Bobby Horton and wife, Faye; and Dwight Horton all of Louisville. Mr. Horton has three step-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
