Maixine Elvie White

Ms. Maxine Elvie White, 89, passed away on Saturday, April 9, 2011, at the Winston Medical Center Nursing Home in Louisville, Mississippi. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 11, 2011, at Nowell-Massey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Phil Fancher and Rev. Billy Bowie officiating. Burial will follow in Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday, April 10, 2011, at Nowell-Massey Funeral Home. Born on September 17, 1921, Ms. White was a retired clerk at Charley McCool's Pharmacy and she was a member of Antioch Baptist Church. Ms. White is survived by her brother, Sherrell Levet White and wife, Kathleen, of Louisville, Mississippi; three nieces, Judy Cother and husband, Bill, of Tupelo, Mississippi, Jeanith Burdine and husband, Bobby, of Ackerman, Mississippi, and Margaret White of Forest, Mississippi; and one nephew, Jack White and wife, Terri, of Bay Springs, Mississippi. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse Mabrey and Jennie Mary Varner White and a sister, Jeanith Modene White. Pallbearers will be Andrew Miller, Steven Miller, Randy Hill, Don Chancellor, Bill Cother, and Jesse Cother. Memorials may be made to the Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery Fund. Nowell-Massey Funeral Home, 724 North Columbus Avenue, Louisville, Mississippi, is handling the arrangements.
