Samantha Jean Pruitt

Samantha Jean Pruitt, 30, passed away on Friday, October 16, 2020, at her home in Noxapater, Mississippi. There will be a private family service with interment following in Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery.

Samantha was born February 9, 1990, to Frances Smith Dupre and Joseph Wayne Pruitt in Starkville, Mississippi. She was a graduate of Noxapater Attendance Center and she also earned a degree from East Mississippi Community College in Scooba, Mississippi. Samantha enjoyed her job working at Atwood Care Center where she loved taking care of her residents. She loved being outdoors where she especially enjoyed fishing and her animals. Her greatest joy was spending time with and loving her children.

Samantha is survived by her children Brice Adam Flores of Noxapater and Braylee Jean Pruitt of Columbus, Mississippi. She is also survived by her mother Frances Dupre of Noxapater, and her father Joseph Wayne Pruitt and special family friend Dolores Ross of Columbus. Samantha also leaves behind to mourn her passing her siblings: Bridget Anderson of Noxapater, Amanda Hampton of Macon, Mississippi, B. J. Williamson of Union, Mississippi, and Joseph Pruitt, Jr., of Macon. She is also survived by her loving nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles. Samantha was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother Christine Sullivan, her maternal grandfather Vernon Smith, her paternal grandmother Betty Jean Hartsell Daniel, and her paternal grandfather Alfred J. Pruitt.

Samantha’s mother, brother and sister would like to give a special thank you to Shae Wyatt for bringing such peace and happiness to our baby this past year. The joy you gave her is something for which we will eternally be thankful.

Serving as pallbearers are Joseph Pruitt, Jr., B. J. Williamson, Amanda Hampton, Freddie “Peanut” Dertinger, Jr., Shondrick Hampton, and Sed White. The family requests that memorials in memory of Samantha be given to Nowell Massey Funeral Home to help with funeral expenses.
