Ronald M. McGahey

Ronald McGahey, 81, passed away on Thursday, October 29, 2020, at his residence in Louisville, Mississippi. Graveside services and interment will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 2 at New Hope Methodist Church Cemetery with Bro. Dewayne Kelsey officiating. Visitation will be the day of the service from 10 a.m. until service time at Nowell-Massey Funeral Home in Louisville.

Ronald was born September 30, 1939, to Woodrow and Constance Jones McGahey in Louisville, Mississippi. He was retired from Mississippi State University where he worked as a mechanic supervisor at the Physical Plant. Ronald also drove a truck for several local companies. He enjoyed race cars and actively participated in races for several years. He answered the call of his country by serving in the United States Navy for four years.

One of his greatest joys was being “Granddaddy” to his six grandchildren: Samantha McGahey, Leslie McGahey, Lauren (Dustin) Devine, Mia McGahey, Marsha Reed, and Anthony Reed. Ronald also leaves behind four great-grandchildren: John Wyatt Pierce, Ronald Jaxon Pierce, Ethan Devine, and Ronald Gene McGahey-Blaine. He is also survived by his brother Paul McGahey and wife Carolyn of Philadelphia, Mississippi. Ronald was preceded in death by his wife Nancy Hancock McGahey, his son Ronald McGahey, his great-granddaughter Nina Estelle Pierce, and his brother John Earl McGahey.

Serving as pallbearers are Jonathan Blaine, Dustin Devine, Dylan Dunn, and Anthony Reed.
