Jessie James Whitehead, 80, passed away on Friday, October 9, 2020, at North Point Nursing Home in Meridian, Mississippi. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, October 11 in the Nowell-Massey Funeral Home Chapel in Louisville with Rev. Eddie Agnew officiating. Interment will follow in Vernon Assembly of God Church Cemetery.
Jessie was born January 6, 1940, to Charles Binford and Lillie Mae Garrard Whitehead in Winston County. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed farming and fishing. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them.
Jessie is survived by his sister Kathy Ann Martin and husband Robert and his brother Gary Bin Whitehead all of Louisville. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters Wanda Faye Adams and Margie Ann Whitehead, and three brothers Kenny Lamar, Guy Eugene, and Carl Lavell Whitehead.
Serving as pallbearers are Jack Allen, Josh Dempsey, Ricky Glass, Bobby Vick, Channing Watson, and Richard Watson. Memorials in honor of Jessie may be given to the Alzheimer's Association, P.O. Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011.
