Mrs. Mary Gregg Kinard, 83, died Saturday, November 24, 2012, at Starkville Manor Nursing Home in Starkville, MS. Memorial services will be held at a later date.
Mrs. Kinard was born January 27, 1929, in Starkville, MS. She was a retired Nursing Aid for the State of Wisconsin, and a member of First Methodist Church in Louisville, MS. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Kinard; her parents, Lillian Daniels and Thomas Gregg; her sister, Peggy Gregg Kinard; and five brothers, Henry Gregg, Harold Gregg, James Gregg, Elias Gregg, and Montee Gregg.
She is survived by her daughter, Brenda Frank of Dallas, TX; three sons, James Kinard of Westerville, OH, John Kinard of San Diego, CA, and Michael Kinard of Louisville, MS; 8 grandchildren; and 5 great grandchildren.

Marvin A. Duran


Mr. Marvin A. Duran, 85, passed away on November 20, 2012, at Winston Medical Center in Louisville, Mississippi, surrounded by his loving family.  Visitation will be Friday, November 23, 2012, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Nowell-Massey Funeral Home in Louisville.  Visitation will also be at North Bend Pentecostal Church in Neshoba County from 12 p.m. until service time with funeral services being held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 24, 2012, with Rev. Johnny Peden, Rev. Burlon Commer, and Rev. Lanoia Burks officiating.  Interment will be in Old Mars Hill Cemetery in Winston County.

Mr. Duran was born on October 3, 1927, to Huey Lee and Alma Ruthie Myers Duran.  He was a member of North Bend Pentecostal Church and he retired as a truck driver for Jarvis Oil Company.

He is survived by his daughters, Kay Stringfellow and Evelyn White and husband, Jule, all of Louisville, Mississippi.  Mr. Duran is also survived by four grandchildren:  Jonathan Stringfellow and wife, Donya; Brittany Lishia and husband, Joseph; Lori Young; and Leah Wylie and husband, Jason; and by two step-grandchildren, Michael White and Bradley White.  He has six great-grandchildren:  Madalyn Young; Logan Young; BreAna Stringfellow; Hayden Wylie; Jaleigh Wylie; and Jonathan David Stringfellow; as well as two step-great-grandchildren, Christian White and Hailey White.  He was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Burnadeen Duran; his parents; and his son-in-law, Rev. Earl Stringfellow.

The family requests that memorials be given to Old Mars Hill Cemetery Fund, Louisville, MS 39339.

Clifford Leon Adcock

Mr. Clifford Leon Adcock, 84, passed away on November 18, 2012, at his residence in Louisville,Mississippi, surrounded by his loving family. Visitation will be Tuesday, November 20, 2012, from 5 p.m.until 8 p.m. at Nowell-Massey Funeral Home in Louisville. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. in the Nowell-Massey Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday with Rev. Trent Jaudon officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mr. Adcock was born on November 1, 1928, to Willie Eugene and Jennie Whitfield Adcock. He was a member of the Baptist faith and he retired from Spartus in the Maintenance Department. He answered the call of his country during the Korean Conflict by serving in the United States Army. 

He is survived by his wife, Bobbie Adcock; two sons, Keith Adcock and Kevin Adcock and wife, Karen; and by two grandchildren, Eric Adcock and Kayla Adcock all of Louisville. Mr. Adcock was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers: John S. Adcock, Ernest Adcock, Willie Adcock, and Ralph Adcock; and his sister, Lois Burrage.

Mrs. Allie Mae Haimes White, 94, died Monday, November 19, 2012, at her home in Louisville, MS. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, November 21st, at Antioch Cemetery, with Rev. Jonathan Peeples officiating. Interment will be in Antioch Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 until 8:00 P.M. Tuesday at Porter Funeral Home.

Mrs. White was born July 8, 1918, in Winston County, MS. She was a retired hairdresser, and sales representative for Merle Norman. She was also a member of Eastern Star, and Poplar Flat Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her husband, James L. “Billy” White; her parents, Margie Vickers and Barney Haimes; and her brother, Ozell Haimes.

She is survived by her son, Norman (Jennie) White of Louisville, MS, 3 grandchildren, Tammye (Eric) Hamilton, Lisa (Brad) Hodges, and Rusty (Sharon) Dooley; and 4 great grandchildren.

James Olyn Gillett

Mr. , 74, died Sunday, November 18, 2012, at his home in Louisville, MS. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, November 21st, at Porter Funeral Home, with Rev. Wayne Hill officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 until 8:00 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home. Porter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Gillett was born November 28, 1937, in Louisville, Mississippi. He retired after 42 years as a railroad engineer for Kansas City Southern, and was a farmer with many talents who could fix anything. He served in the Mississippi National Guard, and was a member of First Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Myrtle Pugh and Solon Upton Gillett.

Mr. Gillett is survived by his wife of 53 years, Dell Johns Gillett; two daughters, Brenda (Chuck) Donald, and Cassandra Fulton, both of Louisville, MS; two sisters, Carolyn (Dobbin) Johns of Louisville, MS, and Cathryn (Billy Charles) Stokes of Noxapater, MS; four grandchildren, Nicholaus (Karla) Fulton, Mallory Donald, Macy Donald, and Katlin Fulton; and one great grandchild, Anna Grace Fulton.

Pallbearers are Nick Fulton, Joe Johns, Dobbin Johns, Bob Johns, Todd Russell, Billy Charles Stokes, Joey Johns, and Chuck Donald. Honorary Pallbearers are Employees of Kansas City Southern Railroad.

Mr. Thomas Rasse Dobbs, 89, passed away on November 12, 2012, at his residence in Dubach, Louisiana, surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Dobbs was born on June 9, 1923, to Joe and Ruth Blassingame Dobbs. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church of Ruston, Louisiana, and a retired salesman for Jarvis Oil Company of Louisville. He answered the call of his country during World War II by serving in the United States Army.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Sue Dobbs of Ruston, Louisiana; his step-daughter, Barbara Blanton of El Paso, Texas; three grandchildren: Teresa Skelton Mann (David) of Ruston, Louisiana; Steve Towne, Jr., (Tracie) of Dickerson, Texas; and Gino Palmieri of Ruston, Louisiana; four great-grandchildren: Tyler Mann, Steven Towne III, Sheena Towne, and Ariana Towne; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Dobbswas preceded in death by his parents and his step-daughter, Betty Skelton.

Mr. Ward was born on August 29, 1925, to Earl and Ethel Cannon Ward.  He was a member of First Baptist Church and he answered the call to serve his country in the Marine Corp during World War II. He retired as a rural mail carrier after 37 years of service with the United States Postal Service.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Ouida Ward of LouisvilleMississippi; his sister, Earline Martin of LucedaleMississippi; his brother, Henry Ward of ShreveportLouisiana; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.  Mr. Ward was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Etoil Ward.

Mr. Jackson was born on March 22, 1931.  He was a member of the Assembly of God faith and was a retired self-employed truck driver.   

He is survived by his son, Randy Jackson of Louisville, Mississippi; his sisters, Wilma and Paul Snow of Philadelphia, Mississippi, and Otis and Sonny Tolbert of Brandon, Mississippi; three grandchildren:  Jacob Keith Jackson, Maggie Grace Jackson, and Thomas Ray Jackson; and his former daughter-in-law, Brandi Hodge Jackson Provius of Aberdeen, Mississippi.  He is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Nell Jackson; his parents, William B. and Nannie Louise Crabtree Jackson; three brothers:  B. P. Jackson, C. B. Jackson, and W. B. Jackson; and two sisters:  Eunice Young and Sarah Vowell.

Mrs. Cherry was born May 11, 1924, in Winston County, MS. She was a homemaker and a member of Macedonia Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Grover Jackson Cherry; and her parents, Cordelia Chancellor and Addison Wylie.
She is survived by a daughter, Arlene (Johnny) Johnson of Louisville, MS; three sons, Benny (Pattie) Cherry of Union, MS, Robert D. (Merita) Cherry of Decatur, MS, and Billy (Tammie) Cherry of Louisville, MS; 8 grandchildren; and several great great grandchildren.
