A graveside service for Wesley T. Roebuck will be held Wednesday, November 30, 2022, at 1:30 p.m. from Tucker Cemetery in Kemper County with Rev. Jerry Wilson officiating. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 11:00 until 1:00 p. m. at McClain-Hays Funeral Home.
Mr. Roebuck, 92, of Preston, died Saturday November 26, 2022, at his home.
Born and raised in Kemper County, MS, he attended Cleveland schools in Kemper County, later graduating from Lynville High School, and then joining the U. S. Marine Corp where he served for 20 years. He fought in the Korean War, Vietnam Conflict, and Panama; and received a Purple Heart. He then attended EMCC and graduated with a degree in business and later attended MSU where he received a degree in accounting. He served over 50 years as a Mason, Lodge #64. He loved to build a variety of things, gardening and bush hogging; and was always willing to help anyone in need.
Survivors include his wife, Pamela Roebuck of Preston, MS; stepdaughters, Jennifer Vowell of Noxapater, MS, and Angie Tidwell (Scott) of Noxapater, MS; sister, Elizabeth Bond of Preston, MS.
Mr. Roebuck was preceded in death by parents, Nathan and Pearl Roebuck; one infant son; and nine brothers and sisters and step-son-n-law Ivey Vowell.
In lieu of flowers, family requests memorials to be made to Tucker Community Church Cemetery Fund, Kemper County.
