Inez was born October 10, 1927, to Marshall and Effie Carter Ferguson in Louisville. She attended church at Shiloh Baptist Church where she taught a Sunday school class. Inez, a homemaker, was an excellent seamstress and she also loved to crochet; she made many beautiful afghans and keepsakes for her family and friends. She loved flowers and enjoyed growing such beautiful ones. Inez was a fun-loving grandmother who taught and played board and card games with her grandchildren and later her great-grandchildren. She was also an excellent cook and gave each of her boys and their family a handwritten cookbook of her recipes.
Inez is survived by three sons: Danny A. Burns and wife Susan of Columbus, Jerry M. Burns and wife Sheryl of Grandin, Florida, and Robin G. Blaine of Louisville. One of her greatest joys was being “Grandma” to her grandsons Yancy (Shanda) Burns and Daniel (Misty) Burns and to her five great-grandchildren: Dylan and Madilyn Burns and Morgan, Harper, and Evan Burns. She also leaves behind a sister Rachel Tucker, a brother Hubert (Wanda) Ferguson, and a host of nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents and five siblings: Winston Miles Hayes, Clay Ferguson, LeeElla Miles, Jean Rodgers, and Cecil (Cil) Huntley.
