Mr. Richard Henry Boydstun, 76, passed away on Friday, October 15, 2021, at his home in Louisville, MS. Funeral services will be held at 5:00 P.M. on Sunday, October 17th, at Porter Funeral Home, with Rev. Jerry Lundy officiating. Visitation will be Sunday from 3:00 P.M. until service time at the funeral home. Interment will be in Harmony Baptist church Cemetery. Porter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Boydstun was born February 21, 1945, in Winston County, MS, to Gladys and Leroy Boydstun. He was a graduate of Nanih Waiya High School, and was a retired forester, having worked with Georgia Pacific, Plum Creek, and The Timber Company. He was a retired medic with the Mississippi National Guard with over 20 years of service. He loved to hunt, and was a member of Harmony Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Mary June Boydstun; a brother, James Leroy “Sonny” Boydstun; and a brother-in-law, Wendell Rogers.
Richard is survived by his wife, Martha Hudson Boydstun of Louisville; two sons, Ronnie Boydstun and Rick Boydstun, both of Louisville; a sister, Helen Rogers of Louisville; a sister-in-law, Jean Boydstun of Louisville; a brother, David (Nell) Boydstun of Louisville; his grandchildren, Robin Elaine Wood, and Tamara Boydstun; and two great grandchildren, Zachary Smith and Savannah Marie Wood.
Pallbearers will be Gary Rogers, Lee Boydstun, David Boydstun, D. K. Boydstun, Daniel Wall, and Luke Wall.
Memorials may be made to the March of Dimes.
