William "Billy" Heard

William “Billy” Wade Heard, 69, passed away surrounded by his loving family on October 20, 2020, at his residence in Louisville, Mississippi. After suffering a stroke the end of May, his health had steadily declined. Graveside service and internment will be at 11:00 a.m., Thursday,
October 22 at Rocky Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery with Bro. Michael Wells officiating.

Billy was born August 10, 1951, to William “Bill” and Peggy Wade Heard in Louisville, Mississippi. He graduated from Louisville High School. Billy was a member of Ellison Ridge Baptist Church and loved spending time with his church family. Billy loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He also enjoyed preparing bar-b-que for friends. He was a member of Nanih Waiya Hunting Club for a number of years. Billy began his career with Merchant Truck Lines and later owned several small businesses including JB’s convenience store in Pontotoc, Mississippi, Billy’s convenience store in Starkville, Mississippi, and ending his career as the owner of The Pack Rat in Louisville, Mississippi.

Billy is survived by his mother, Peggy Heard, his loving wife of 38 years Judy Coalson Heard, his children: Stephanie Heard Harris of Philadelphia Mississippi, Tammy Williamson Shaw (David) of Argo Alabama, Pam Williamson Wiygul of Columbus, Mississippi, Liz Williamson Spears (Damon) of Osyka Mississippi; his brother Danny Heard (Donna) of Louisville, Mississippi and sister-in-law Janet Heard of Louisville Mississippi. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Tyler Salter, Reagan Harris, Brayden Harris, Bruce Shaw, Ashley Shaw, Wills Wiygul, Christopher Morris and Zack Morris as well as 5 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews. Billy was preceded in death by his dad, Bill Heard and his siblings: Michael and Lloyd Heard.

Serving as pallbearers are Tyler Salter, Bruce Shaw, Christopher Morris, Zack Morris, Bradley Heard and Brandon Heard. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the American Heart Association or the charity of your choice.
