Visitation will be the day of the service from 12 p.m. until service time at Nowell-Massey Funeral Home in Louisville. Interment will follow in Poplar Flat Cemetery.

Brenda was born July 7, 1950, to Olen and Maureen Watson McPherson. She was a member of Poplar Flat Baptist Church. Brenda loved to shop, work in her vegetable garden, and was an avid reader. She enjoyed visiting with her family and friends and was quick to let everyone know that Mark and LeeAnne were her pride and joy. She enjoyed playing games of Gin Rummy and Skip-bo with her family and her nursing home friends. Brenda was always happy; smiling and laughing with those around her and was young at heart! She spent her years working in Kilmichael Hospital and in the nursing homes in Eupora and Ackerman, where she enjoyed caring for patients and where she developed lasting friendships with her co-workers. Brenda maintained that loving, caring, and giving nature while at Elm Cottage with all of her cottage neighbors.

Brenda is survived by her loving husband Troy Taylor of Louisville. She is also survived by her children: LeeAnne Kilgore and husband Jason of Chattanooga, Tennessee, Mark Nowell and wife Reba of Ackerman, Mississippi, Kim Ming and husband Keith, and Chad Taylor all of Louisville. One of her greatest joys was being “Mamaw Brenda” to her five grandchildren: Joshua Kilgore, Matthew Kilgore, Jacsen Nowell, Nicholas Nowell, Kory (Charlea) Liddell, and Cody (Anna) Ming, as well as her seven great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind her loving nieces and nephews. Brenda was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Lamar McPherson and Mickey McPherson, and her step-son Rex Taylor.

Serving as pallbearers are Joshua Kilgore, Kory Liddell, Jacsen Nowell, Logan Carter, Freddy Fulcher, Marty McPherson, and Richard Randle. Memorials in honor of Brenda may be given to Poplar Flat Cemetery Fund, P. O. Box 684, Louisville, MS 39339.
