Patricia Ann Ward

Patricia Ann Ward, 77, passed away on October 21, 2020, at Winston Medical Center in Louisville, Mississippi. Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m., Friday, October 23 in the Nowell-Massey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jim Garner officiating. Interment will immediately follow the service in Memorial Cemetery.

Ann was born October 7, 1943, to Vernon and Eva Parker Yarbrough in Winston County, Mississippi. She was a member of Wess Chapel Baptist Church. Ann enjoyed painting, fishing, and working in her flowers. She always had a bountiful vegetable garden from which she enjoyed canning and preserving the vegetables that she grew. Ann loved to cook meals for her family. She also had a love for animals of any kind…raising various types from coons to peacocks. Ann loved jewelry, and she enjoyed needlepoint such as cross stitching, crocheting.

Ann is survived by her husband of almost 55 years A. J. “J. J.” Ward of Louisville. She is also survived by her three sons: Tim Clark and wife Joann, Mike “Duge” Ward and wife Amy all of Louisville, and Shane Ward and wife Paola of Houston, Texas. One of her greatest joys was being “Nan” to her four grandchildren: A. J. Clark, McKayla Ward, Jacob Ward, and Noah Ward. Ann also leaves behind her eight siblings: Freddy Yarbrough, John Yarbrough, Vonne Clark, Mae Hemphill, Harold Yarbrough, Dewayne Ray, Algie McCullough, and Pearl Daniel as well as a host of loving nieces and nephews. Ann was preceded in death by her parents, and her siblings: Richard Yarbrough, Thaddeus Yarbrough, Rita Dollarhide, Haze Long, and James Yarbrough.

Serving as pallbearers are Fred Childs, A. J. Clark, Chase Fuller, Keith Matzek, Nick Reed, and Jacob Ward. Memorials in honor of Ann may be given to the Breast Cancer Association.
