Dale Clark Bennett

Dale Clark Bennett, 85, passed away Saturday, April 6, 2019, at Bee Hive Homes in Louisville, Mississippi. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 10, 2019, in the Nowell Massey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Larry Wissel officiating. Visitation will be the day of the service from 10 a.m. until service time at Nowell Massey Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Dale was born June 6, 1933, to Samuel and Ethel Clark Bennett. He graduated from Louisville High School and attended Mississippi State University. He was a member of West Union Presbyterian Church. Dale and his wife, Bettie, were very successful business owners of Bennett's Quik Chek; where he made delicious sandwiches. He enjoyed fishing, especially at the Land of Lakes in Brooksville, Mississippi; and he enjoyed gardening.

Dale is survived by his daughter, Jennie Bennett Hodges and husband Terry of Ridgeland, Mississippi; his son Andy Bennett of Louisville; and two sisters Sue Fulcher and Joyce Hull both of Louisville. One of his greatest joys was being “GP” to his two grandsons Orry Clark Hodges and Matthew Robert Hodges. He is preceded in death by his wife Bettie Lou Bennett; son Clark Bennett; his parents; and siblings Virginia Bennett Ward, Gilbert Bennett, and Joe Brown Bennett.

Serving as pallbearers are Darryl Edmonds, Matt Hodges, Orry Hodges, Cliff Hudson, Kevin Hudson, and James Moffett. Memorial contributions in honor of Mr. Bennett may be given to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Tribute Program, P. O. Box 1000 Department 142, Memphis, TN 38148-0142.
