“Motsy” was born in Louisville on November 18, 1928, to Wyatt and Claudie Clark Davis. She was a member of the Southern Baptist faith.
“Motsy” is survived by two sons, Marvin Smith and wife, Kathy, of Richmond, Texas; and Tim W. Smith and wife, Teresa, of Brandon, Mississippi. She also leaves behind two brothers, Wyatt Davis, Jr., of Laurel, Mississippi; and Jimmy Calvin Davis and wife, Janice, of Columbus, Mississippi; and her niece, Courtenay Davis McAllister of Memphis, Tennessee. “Motsy” leaves four grandchildren: David Smith, Emily Smith, Rachel Smith, and Tom Rundle. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill York; and her parents.
