Ronnie "Bulldog" Coleman


Ronald Dwight Coleman ("Bulldog"), 64 years old, of Sturgis, MS, passed away on July 20, 2017 at his home with family by his side.

Visitation will be Wednesday, July 26, 2017, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Friendship Baptist Church in Sturgis, Mississippi. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 27, 2017, at Friendship Baptist Church with Rev. Dan Robertson, Junior Davis, and Charles Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Craig Springs Cemetery.

Ronnie was born in Sturgis to Bilbo and Estelle Coleman on February 5, 1953. He was a graduate of Sturgis High School and had attended Hinds Jr College. He married Diane Warner on August 26, 1978 in Louisville, MS. He was the assistant foreman at Mississippi State University, Physical Plant, where he was a welder/plumber for approximately 28 years before retiring.

Ronnie is preceded in death by parents Bilbo & Estelle Coleman, sister Kate Hood, brother in law Clyde Wallace, and nephew Stacey Brunt.

Ronnie is survived by wife Diane Coleman, daughter Nicole Coleman (Sturgis), siblings Jean McCarthy and Bill (Florida), Travis "Bud" Coleman and Martha Lynn (Sturgis), Peggy Wallace (Louisville), and several nephews and nieces.

Pallbearers will be Johnny Coleman, Scott Coleman, Stan Coleman, Tommy Coleman, Sterling Lewis, Ronnie Massey, Daniel Peacock, and Ricky Scarbrough.

Honorary Pallbearers include the men in Ronnie's Sunday School class, as well as Alfred Coleman, Grady Wayne Coleman, Wendall Jackson, Paul Massey and Aubrey Ray.

Memorials may be given to Kindred Hospice at www.KindredGentivaHospiceFoundation.org. Also, there are memorial envelopes available in the front vestibule of the church.
