Daniel Edward Balius

Daniel Edward Balius, 87, of Louisville passed away on December 5, 2014. Visitation will be held at Nowell-Massey Funeral Home from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday, December 8, 2014. Funeral services will take place at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, December 9, 2014, in the Nowell-Massey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gerald Branum and Rev. Samuel Balius officiating. Following military honors, interment will immediately follow the service in Memorial Park Cemetery. Daniel was born in Biloxi, Mississippi, on February 16, 1927, to the late Opal Guy and Ernst Balius. He was graduated from Biloxi High School on April 1947 and married Marion Vonceil Wells on December 16, 1950.

Daniel served in the military 20 years and volunteered for a 15 month hitch in-country during the Vietnam Conflict. He retired a Master Sargent from the Air Force after which he worked in the United States Postal Service for 23 years.

Daniel is survived by his son, Curtis Daniel Balius; and his siblings, Mable Gallot, Samuel Balius, and Gerald Balius.
