She is survived by her husband of 23 years, Thomas Peterson, of Louisville; her mother, JoAnn Jennings and husband, Elvis, of Lexington, Mississippi; and her sister, Melissa Cherry, also of Louisville. Melanie is also survived by her father- in-law and mother-in-law, Giles and Patti Peterson of Louisville; her sister-in-law, Dawn Reynolds of Starkville, Mississippi; and her grandmother-in-law, Willie Faye Dawkins, of Sturgis, Mississippi. She has three nephews, Gage Cherry; Ryan Cherry; and Matthew Reynolds. Melanie was preceded in death by her father; and her grandparents, Frank and Christine Parker; Wayne and Lizzie White; Marshall Dawkins; and Frances Peterson.
Serving as pallbearers will be Gage Cherry, Ryan Cherry, Berry Johnson, Matthew Reynolds, Barry Parker, Dustin Sullivan, and Leroy Parker.
