He was born and reared in Preston and was a graduate of Lynville High School. In 1966, he joined the Mississippi National Guard and married his wife on December 27, 1966. Mr. Luke worked for EMEPA from 1970 until his retirement in 2007. He enjoyed his retirement and was an avid farmer and hunter. He had been an active member of Beaver Mountain Hunting Club for 20 years.
Survivors include his wife, Kathy Stokes Luke of Preston; daughters, Gina Taylor and her husband, Roy of Preston, Kylie Luke of Preston and Heather Evans and her husband, Michael Ted of Preston; son, Cliff Luke and his wife, Lori of Nanih Waiya; grandchildren, Trey Taylor and his wife, Shamra of Preston, Troy Taylor of Preston, Ashley Luke of Nanih Waiya, Emily Luke of Nanih Waiya and Hannah Evans of Preston; great- grandchildren, Jadyn Taylor of Preston and Jordyn Taylor of Preston; mother, Ann Baughman of Philadelphia; sister, Lesia Boswell and her husband, Olen of Philadelphia; brothers, Joe Charles Luke and his wife, Wanda Kay of Preston and Frank Luke and his wife, Sarah of North Bend and a host of nieces and nephews.
Mr. Luke was preceded in death by his father, Odie Luke.
