Mrs. Mable Alewine Hurt, 92, died Thursday, January 20, 2011, in Birmingham, AL. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, January 24th, at Ellison Ridge Cemetery. Interment will be in Ellison Ridge Cemetery. Porter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Hurt was born July 26, 1918. She was a longtime resident of Birmingham, AL. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Edward Hurt; her parents, Nan Avery Alewine and Claude C. Alewine; a brother, Opal Alewine; and two sisters, Eva Arnett and Mary C. Sellers.
She is survived by her daughter, Gloria (Jerry) Hullett of Birmingham, AL; granddaughter, Beth (Scott) Scharding; grandsons, Jeffery (Robin) Hullett and Chris (Kristen) Hullett; and two great grandchildren, Braxton Hullett and Caitlin Hullett.
