Dennis was born June 15, 1962, in Dahlonega, Georgia, to Charles and Shirley Duty. He graduated from Central High School in Phenix City, AL, and received his associate degree in fire science from Chattahoochee Valley Community College. Dennis worked as a firefighter until his health forced him to retire. He was a jack-of-all-trades, having worked in construction with his brother, and later as a commercial specialist at Lowe’s. Dennis's love for the outdoors, hunting, and fishing led him to direct and produce his own, very popular, hunting and fishing show, called Southern Sportsman TV. Along with hunting and fishing, his passion was raising cattle and spending time on his farm.
Dennis is survived by his wife, Vickie Ray Duty of Louisville; his brother, Darrell (Gina) Duty of Louisville; his sister-in-law, Wendy (David) Rouse of Jacksonville, FL; his nieces and nephews, Nick Duty, Courtney Duty Hunt, Cole Duty, and Leslie Dix-Kwiatek; and his great nieces and nephew, Aidyn Smith, Liam Hunt, and Ella Grace Smith.
