Mary Ann was born June 24, 1928, in Winston County, MS. She was a graduate of Lobutcha High School, East Central Community College, and the University of Southern Mississippi. She was a long time resident of Long Beach, MS where she was a school teacher for many years at Long Beach High School. During her retirement years, she relocated to Winston County, MS and more recently to Birmingham, AL.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Austin Sessions; her parents, Clara Watts Tabor and William Earl Tabor, Sr.; her sisters, Ruth Kitchens, Becky Dorroh, Betty Lou Burchfield, and Doris Steed; a sister-in-law, Frances Tabor; her brothers, Tuck Tabor and William E. “Bill” Tabor, Jr.
She is survived by her daughter, Beth (Walter) Sorensen of Trussville, AL; a son, Joe (Millie) Sessions of Pensacola, FL; a brother, Larry Tabor of Starkville, MS; and four grandchildren, Lia Sorensen, Laina Sorensen, Bryan (Ariel) Wheeler-Sessions, and Mark Sessions; and two great grandchildren, Henry Wheeler-Sessions and Cooper Wheeler-Sessions. She is also survived by a large extended family with whom she was very close.
