Charles was born on January 16, 1951, to Horace and Ivory Mayo Chancellor in Louisville. He graduated from Nanih Waiya Attendance Center. During his career, he worked for Spartus Corporation, Bellwood Cabinet Factory, Western Auto, and Choctaw Maid (now known as Tyson Foods). He answered the call of his country by serving in the Army National Guard.
Charles is survived by his sister, Sharon Bailey; and his brother, Clovis Chancellor both of Louisville. He is also survived by his nieces, Casandra Stapleton and Shannon (James) Smyth; eight great-nieces and great-nephews, other family members, and friends. Charles was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Chancellor; his parents; and step-daughter, Catherine Smith.
