Carvel “Buddy” Eaves

Carvel “Buddy” Eaves, age 96, passed away on Saturday, July 9, 2022, in the BeeHive Homes of Louisville. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 12 in the Nowell-Massey Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Mike Carr officiating. Visitation will be the day of the service from 9:30 a.m. until service time at Nowell-Massey Funeral Home in Louisville, Mississippi. Interment will immediately follow the service in Murphy Creek Cemetery.

Buddy was born January 5, 1926, to John and Welmer Stokes Eaves in Louisville. He was a member of Murphy Creek Baptist Church. Buddy dearly loved his church and church family. After 37 years, he retired from Southern Natural Gas where he worked in the pipe line department and later as a supervisor. Buddy loved spending time with his family and he also enjoyed gardening; giving much of what he raised away. He answered the call of his country by serving in the United States Navy.

Buddy is survived by two daughters Ginger Cline and husband Gary of Mendenhall, Mississippi, and Donna Carr and husband Mike of Wesson, Mississippi. One of his greatest joys was being “Pop or Papaw Buddy” to his six grandchildren: Keith Cline, Tony Leggett, and Caron (Joel) Wall, Casey Carr, Logan (Samantha) Carr, Hayley (Aaron) Welch; as well as 16 great-grandchildren: John Taylor Cline, Anna Rai Cline, Nic Cline, Paxton Leggett, Mattie Leggett, Colton Wall, Caleb Wall, Caroline Wall, Payden Austin, Carlie Austin, Jadon Carr, Jude Carr, Eli Carr, Remi Carr, Laila Board, and Riley Welch. He is preceded in death by his wife Mildred Clytee Eaves, his granddaughter Lana Brister, his parents, his stepmother Belle Livingston Eaves, two sisters: Gertie White and Zelloween Pearson, and her brother Junior Eaves.

Serving as pallbearers are Gary Kline, Keith Cline, Don Eaves, Ronald Eaves, Don Foreman, and Freddy Fulcher.
