On July 17, 1976, in Louisville, Mississippi, she was united in marriage to her surviving husband, David Baumgartner.
Marsha worked as a registered nurse for many years. She and her loving husband, Dave, shared a passion for travel. In addition to enjoying adventures traveling the world, she held special interests in Thoroughbreds of the Nation, Cornell Ornithology and the Morgan County Library.
Marsha had a tremendous passion for horses and racing. In 2015, she garnered national attention as she submitted the chosen name for the horse, American Pharoah, that ultimately swept all three races that year to win the Triple Crown.
With interests as diverse as her talents, Marsha enjoyed spending time scrapbooking, honing her photography skills, scuba diving, horse racing and reading.
In addition to her husband, Dave, she is survived by her brother, Jeff Terry and wife, Beverly of Noxapater, Mississippi and many friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Ron Terry.
A celebration of Marsha's life will be held from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m., Saturday, June 11th, at the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home in Versailles. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Bank of Versailles, Marsha Baumgartner Scholarship Fund or to Old Friends, 1841 Paynes Depot Road, Georgetown, Kentucky 40324, an organization for retired race horses.
