Paul Smith Sr.

Mr. Paul Smith, Sr., 63, passed away on Wednesday, June 28, 2017, at his residence in Noxapater, Mississippi. Visitation will be Thursday, June 29, 2017, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Nowell Massey Funeral Home in Louisville, Mississippi. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, June 30, 2017, in the Nowell Massey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mike Fondren officiating. Interment will follow in Indian Springs Cemetery.

Paul was born April 19, 1954, to Earl and Allie Swindle Smith in Winston County. He loved his job and had just recently retired from the City of Noxapater. He loved his family dearly and enjoyed time spent with them; especially his grandchildren and playing with his great-grands. He was an early riser; who loved his horses and helping others.

Mr. Smith is survived by his wife, Addy “A. J.” Smith; his daughter, Lisa Ann Smith; and two sons, Paul Smith, Jr. and wife, Shelba; and Bobby D. Smith all of Noxapater. One of his greatest joys was being “PawPaw” to his six grandchildren: Austin Barrett, Jade Smith, Haden Smith, Tracy Smith, Haley Smith, and Macie Barrett; as well as his two great-grandchildren, Jaxson Franklin and Braxton Paul Smith. Paul also leaves behind eight sisters to mourn his passing: Eva Dean Johnson, Christine Yates, Sammie Hemphill, Gladys Drury, Josephine Quinn, Rosemary Brady, Ann Jenkins, and Allie Bozeman; and four brothers: Richard, Garland, Bobby Joe, and Rex Allen Smith; and his best friend, Gene Howard. Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his parents; and his sister, Delma Ruth Slawson; and his brother, Jimmy Don Smith.

Serving as pallbearers are Ken Drury, Isaac Goforth, Jesse Howard, Jr., Rodney Smith, Wayne Smith, and Michael Vowell. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in honor of Mr. Smith may be given to Nowell Massey Funeral Home to help defray funeral expenses.
