Mr. Leonard Harold Thomas, Sr., 79, passed away on Thursday, October 20, 2011, at Apple Ridge Nursing Home in Harrison, Arkansas. Graveside services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 21, 2011, at New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery in Starkville, Mississippi.
Mr. Thomas was born August 14, 1932 to Arthur and Katie Chandler Thomas. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church, and he worked as a farmer and enjoyed working with wood.
Mr. Thomas is survived by his daughter, Teresa Thomas, and two sons, Leonard Harold Thomas, Jr., and Johnny Wayne Thomas. He is also survived by two sisters, Marie Eaton and Evelyn Baxter, and three brothers, Don Thomas, William “Bill” Thomas and Arthur “Buddy” Thomas. Mr. Thomas also has three grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He is preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Katie Chandler Thomas.
