Funeral services for Ms. Bernice Donnell Burkes will be held at 2 PM Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at Mars Hill Pentecostal Church in Winston Co. with Rev. Kenny Chessor and Rev. Richard Burks officiating. Interment will be in Mars Hill Pentecostal Cemetery in Winston Co. Visitation will be 12:30 PM – 2 PM Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at Mars Hill Pentecostal Church in Winston Co. John E. Stephens Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Ms. Burkes, 90, passed away Sunday, February 16, 2025, at her home in Neshoba County. She lived most of her life in the Alice Community. She was a member of Mars Hills Pentecostal Church in Winston Co. Her hobbies were tending to her flowers, gardening, and working in the yard.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Arlie Norman Burkes; parents, Lawrence Edward and Bernice Estelle Pope Breazeale; daughter, Phyliss Ann Burkes; brother, Pat Breazeale.

Survivors include her daughters, Melissa Burks (Tommy), Shelia Tucker (Allen) both of Philadelphia; son, Jeff Burkes (Carolyn) of Philadelphia; sister, Linda Townsend of Philadelphia; brothers, Ray Breazeale of Philadelphia, Stevie Breazeale of Louisville; (7) grandchildren, Amanda McDonald (David), Kerri Weaver (Mark), Matthew Burks (Emily), Christopher Reeves, Bradley Burkes, David Tucker (Ashley), Michael Tucker (Jessie); (12) great-grandchildren and (1) great-great-grandchild on the way.

Pallbearers will be Matthew Burks, Bradley Burkes, Christopher Reeves, Brady Weaver, Lily McDonald, Kody Tucker, John Mark Coats, Caden Weaver, Arlie Burks, Landen Tucker.
