Ida Mae Quinn Dickerson

Ida Mae Quinn Dickerson, 92, passed away on February 16, 2025, at her home in Louisville, Mississippi, with her loving family by her side. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, February 18, 2025, in the Massey Funeral Home Chapel in Louisville, Mississippi, with Bro. Dwayne Kelsey officiating. Visitation will be the day of the service from 12:30 p.m. until service time at Massey Funeral Home. Interment will immediately follow the service in Murphy Creek Cemetery.

Ida Mae was born November 22, 1932, the first born of 12 children born to James Robert and Emma Jones Quinn in Parchman, Mississippi. She was a faithful member of First Apostolic Church of Louisville as long as her health allowed her to attend. Ida Mae very much enjoyed working in the flowers in her yard and watching them grow. She was an excellent seamstress; she loved to fish; and she enjoyed helping others. She dearly loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them.

Ida Mae is survived by her children: Reta Hartness, Robert Dickerson (Beverly Keene), Roy Dickerson (Dinky), and Mark Dickerson all of Louisville. One of her greatest joys was being “Grandmother or Granny” to her eight grandchildren: Shayne Hartness, Shannon Hartness, Angie Hartness, Mandi (Rodney) Dempsey, Kyle (Sarah) Dickerson, Carly Dickerson, John (Kristin) Dickerson, and Linsey (John) Anderson. She dearly loved her 13 great-grandchildren: Chase Jones, Dalton Hartness, Mary Elizabeth “Ellie” Dickerson, Peyton Dempsey, Parker Dempsey, Logan Dempsey, Maddie (Logan) Young, Gracie Edwards (Sawyer Roberts), Aiden Reed, John Allen Collier, Robert Jase Anderson, Walker Hayze Anderson, and was looking forward to the birth of Kyle Dickerson, Jr., “KJ” in March. She is also survived by four sisters: Louise Hamilton, Ora Lee Dickerson, Minnie Pearl McKee, and Bessie Adams. Ida Mae is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Dickerson; son, Danny O’Neal Dickerson; grandson, Carl R. Dickerson; daughter-in-law, Carlene Dickerson; son-in-law, Otha Hartness, Jr., her parents; her sisters, Betty Jackson, Earlene Howard, Lila Kitchens, and infant sister Sammie Belle Quinn; and her brothers, Will “Bob” Quinn, James Edward “Jim” Quinn, and Robert Commodore Quinn.

Serving as pallbearers are Chase Jones, Dalton Hartness, John Anderson, John Mark Dickerson, Kyle Dickerson, and David Quinn. Memorials in honor of Ida Mae may be given to Murphy Creek Cemetery Fund, 5420 Bond Road, Louisville, MS 39339.
