Betty Ruth Sisson

Mrs. Betty Ruth Sisson, 91, passed away on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at her home in McCool, MS. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, February 21st, at Porter Funeral Home, with Rev. Hank Dempsey officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 12:00 noon until service time at the funeral home. Interment will be in Owen Chapel Cemetery. Porter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Betty Ruth was born June 19, 1933, in Choctaw County, MS. She was a graduate of Weir High School, and worked as a seamstress at the Louisville Pants Factory, and retired from TRW. She loved flowers, and was an avid quilter for many years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles “Pete” Sisson; her parents, Annie Ruth Romedy and Bell Covington; a Remedy son-in-law, Leo Howard.

She is survived by her daughters, Brenda “Susie” Howard and Kay (Thomas) Townsend; two sons, Jack (Cindy) Sisson and Jerry Charles (Beverly) Sisson, all of McCool, MS; nine grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Robby Dempsey, Brian Sisson, Jerime Howard, Wayne Hobson, Chad Townsend, and Brian Thrasher.
