Barbara A. Stoecker

Barbara A. Stoecker of Ackerman, MS, passed away Sunday, December 20, 2020, at Choctaw County Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, in Ackerman, MS. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, December 23, 2020, 1:00 P.M., at McCurtains Creek Baptist Cemetery on Jones Road, Eupora, MS. with Rev. Steve Wright and Doug Atkinson officiating. Coleman Funeral Home of Ackerman, MS, is in charge of arrangements. There will be a short, private family visitation at Coleman Funeral Home prior to the graveside service.

Barbara was born October 26, 1926, in Cleveland, MS, to James and Ireland(Hall) Sheedy. She was 94 years old. Barbara was a cashier for many years at Sunflower Food Stores in Ackerman, MS. She later owned and operated a restaurant in Weir, MS. Upon retirement she became a caregiver for those needing assistance. Barbara was always energetic, comical, and a joy to those who were fortunate enough to be called her friends. She leaves behind a legacy of funny stories and precious memories with those she loved. Barbara would also want to express her love, thanks, and appreciation to all of her dedicated caregivers…Johnnie Patterson, Choctaw County Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, and the nurses and staff on "C" Hall.

Barbara is survived by a host of nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Milbert Stoecker; her parents, James & Ireland Sheedy; 4 sisters, Olean Campbell, Georgie Rabun, Charlotte Hines, and Minnie Dell Johnson; and 3 brothers, Henry Sheedy, Crawley Sheedy, and William"Doc"Sheedy.
