Marilyn was born January 13, 1951, to Albert Oliver and Betty Ruth Smith Glass. She was a person who never truly realized her own worth. Marilyn loved, and was loved by, a great many, and was very loyal. She knew her own mind and didn’t mind sharing it with anyone who pushed her limits! She was the perfect mixture of sweet and sour, and was incredibly conscientious about work and personal obligations. Her world revolved around her mother and her son, but she cherished all her family, her friends, and she liked to keep things simple. Marilyn knew just how blessed her life was because of God’s incredible goodness. She had a no-nonsense heart but she loved all the way. “What you see is what you get” is an expression she appreciated.

Marilyn is survived by her brother, Albert “Shug” Glass and wife, Betty, of Louisville. She also leaves behind her nieces: Brandye Glass Hindman, Crystal Noble, Lou Ann Eakins Johnson, Gloria Glass, and Dachelle Glass Murphy; other family members, and loving friends. She was preceded in death by her son, James “Buster” Stokes; her parents; brother, Robert “Sonny” Glass; sister, Rita “Polly” Foster; and nephew, Paul Glass.

Serving as pallbearers are Austin Prisock, Kevin Hindman, Tobie Shramek, Joe Fleming, and Drew Massey.

Services are under the direction of Massey Funeral Home, 724 North Columbus Avenue, Louisville, MS. Memories and condolences may be shared with the family by signing the guest register at www.nowellmasseyfuneralhome.com.
