Debbie was a wonderful wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt and grandmother (aka DeeDee). She loved the Lord. She enjoyed all outdoors; camping, fishing, mountain trips, and she always had a green thumb for her flowers. She was a gourmet cook to her family of wonderful southern recipes that have been passed down the family for years. She loved to cook and have family and friends in her home. She made delicious desserts which she enjoyed sharing with friends. In fact, when going to chemo, she would ask her doctors, nurses and staff what their favorite desserts were. The next time she’d come with a favorite dessert for a random doctor or nurse. Many times, she would bake cookies and brownies, individually packed (2 per bag) to share with the entire staff at the cancer institute. Debbie loved and gave with all of her heart.

Debbie was a genuine person, and always a loyal friend. She never met a stranger. She was loved by all who knew her. Her sweet voice and smile were contagious. As a matter of fact that is what stole Steve’s heart. Mrs. Simpson has been a member of Harmony Baptist Church since 1970's. She enjoyed being a member of two bunco clubs, and preparing for that special day with her friends.

Debbie is survived by her loving husband Steve Simpson of Louisville; and her three children: Jason Palmer of Morrison, Colorado; Ashley Simpson Pruett and husband Thomas of Eatonton, Georgia; and Laura Simpson Lee and husband Paul of Clarksville, Georgia. One of her greatest joys was being “DeeDee” to her grandchildren: Bryce Bragg, Katelyn Palmer Anslee Hicks, Braxton Bragg,Ty Hicks, Wesley Hicks, Ayden Pruett, Leslie Pruett Marlee-Kate Lee, Jacey Lee, Bailey Lee, Logan Lee, and Alyssa Lee. She is also survived by her mother Johnnie Ruth McAdory; two sisters Lynn McAdory Smith (Jeff) Seward and Janet McAdory (John) Bradeen; and her brother Larry McAdory; in addition to her nieces, nephews, and friends. She is preceded in death by her father Leo McAdory.
