Janice Lowrey Richardson

Janice Lowrey Richardson, 58, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Friday, November 1, 2019, in Preston, Mississippi. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, November 3, 2019 in the Nowell Massey Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Mason Joy and Bro. Gerald Butler officiating. Visitation will be the day of the service from 12 p.m. until service time at Nowell Massey Funeral Home in Louisville. Interment will follow in Jackson Field Cemetery in Preston, Mississippi.

Janice was born June 15, 1961, to Aaron Olyn and Hilda Null Lowrey. She was a member of East Louisville Baptist Church. She loved spending time at the beach with her family and friends. Janice’s greatest joy in life was spending time with her ten grandchildren. She was an honorable wife, daughter, mother and friend.

Janice is survived by her loving husband of 29 years Larry Richardson of Preston, Mississippi; her sons Jeremy Shafer and wife Randi; Michael Shafer and wife Krystal; her daughters Jeanie McAdory and husband James; Carrie Cervantes all of Louisville, Mississippi; her mother Hilda Null Lowrey; and three brothers, Joe Lowrey and wife Glynda and Murray Lowrey of Louisville, Mississippi and Keith Lowrey of Jackson, Mississippi. One of her greatest joys was being “Meme” and “Nona” to her ten grandchildren: Hunter Shafer, Alyssa Shafer, Jade Chandler, Aaron Shafer, Kyra Brooks, J. D. Chandler, Addison Shafer, Ally Cervantes, Willow Shafer, and Alex Richardson. Janice also leaves behind to mourn her passing a host of nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her father Aaron Olyn Lowrey and her brother Tony Lowrey.

Serving as pallbearers are Jerry Richardson, Justin Richardson, Kaleb Rigdon, Ricky Russell, Hunter Shafer, and Mitch Whitehead. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be J. D. Chandler, Aaron Shafer, and Dale Schroeder. Memorial gifts in honor of Janice may be given to The Hospice Promise Foundation, 901 Hugh Wallis Road South, Lafayette, LA 70508.
