Barbara was born in Oxford, Mississippi, on August 4, 1948, to Henry Clay and Pauline Denson Wood. She was a 1966 graduate of Louisville High School and a 1977 graduate of the University of Mississippi. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Louisville and later she taught school. Barbara was very creative and as an artist she enjoyed making wearable art jewelry. She also enjoyed style, fashion, makeup, and clothing so she channeled her interests and opened a boutique in Louisville.
Barbara is survived by her brother Robert Denson Wood of Louisville; and her sister-in-law Miriam Wood of Simpsonville, South Carolina. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews: Lorry W. Guy, Karen W. McClaran, Joseph H. Wood, Madeline W. Sherer, and Cristian Wood. She was preceded in death by her parents.
