Lucille Garrard


Ms. Lucille Garrard, 84, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, August 11, 2017, at her residence in Louisville, Mississippi. Visitation will be Wednesday, August 16, 2017, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Nowell Massey Funeral Home in Louisville. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Thursday, August 17, 2017, in the Nowell Massey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bobby Lowrey and Rev. Antoine Stokes officiating assisted by Drew Jones. Interment will follow in Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery.


Ms. Garrard was born March 3, 1933, to Robert and Lillie Mae Sullivan Smith. She is a member of First Pentecostal Church of Noxapater, Mississippi. She was a homemaker as well as retired from the Pants Factory in Louisville.




Ms. Garrard is survived by four daughters: Sandra Stanley and husband, Archie; Margaret Jones and husband, Elton; Marjorie Thomas and husband, Walter; and Freda Adams and husband, Jason; and by two sons, Ray Garrard and Roger Garrard and wife, Rosa; and her sister, Dora Wedaman. One of her greatest joys was being “Mamaw” to 15 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cleveland Garrard; her son, William Earl Garrard; daughter-in-law, Beverly Garrard; her parents; her brother, Vernon Smith; and three sisters, Dot Eaves, Pearl Stokes, and her twin sister, Louise Jones.





Serving as pallbearers will be Blake Sullivan, Corey Garrard, Danny Sullivan, Jason Garrard, Jason Ragan, Josh Watkins, Michael Stanley and Steve Watkins. Honorary pallbearers will be Freddy Eaves and Ronnie Garrard.
