Fred Price Reed

Mr. Fred Price Reed, 97, died Wednesday, December 21, 2016, at Neshoba General Hospital in Philadelphia, MS. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, December 23rd, at Porter Funeral Home, with Rev. Mark Mayo officiating. Interment will be in Murphy Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday from 5:00 until 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Porter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Reed was born March 17, 1919, in Louisville, MS.

He was an insurance salesman and funeral director, having served the families of Winston County for over 50 years. Fred was also an Army veteran of WWII, and a member of Murphy Creek Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Reynolds Reed; his parents, Cora Bessie Stokes Reed and Edward Joseph Reed; two sisters, Autence Eaves and Lorene Parks; and two brothers, Tommy Reed and Howard Reed.

He is survived by his three daughters, Eloise and Bob Richardson of Flowood, MS, Gail Henderson of Louisville, MS, and Rochelle Jordan of Louisville, MS; 6 grandchildren, Daphne and Mark Donald, Mark and KK Henderson, Brian Henderson, Sean Johnson, Reed Jordan, and Will and Audrey Jordan; great grandchildren, Whitney Donald, Jake and Jessica Donald, Kyle Donald, Graham Henderson, Brac Henderson, Maggie Ruth Henderson, and Judd Henderson; and great great grandchildren, Liam Donald and Avery Donald.

Pallbearers will be Reed Jordan, Mark Henderson, Brian Henderson, Sean Johnson, Will Jordan, and Dr. Mark Donald.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jake Donald, Kyle Donald, Graham Henderson, Brac Henderson, Judd Henderson, and Liam Donald.

Memorials may be made to Murphy Creek Benevolent Fund.
