Bobby Earl Reed

Bobby Earl Reed passed away on Thursday, February 11, 2016. He was 75 years old. Bobby was born in Louisville, MS, to Tommie and Mavis Reed. He has been a resident of Vicksburg for 55 years.

Bobby earned his Bachelor of Science in Physics from Mississippi College. He worked for the US Corp of Engineers at WES from 1961 to 1997, where he retired as the Acting Division Chief of Instrumentation. While there, he was awarded many patents and received many awards for exemplary work. He was a loving son, brother, husband, father, and grandfather. Bobby enjoyed engineering, inventing, mechanics, problem solving, classic cars, hot rods, and spending time with his grandchildren. He was a member of the Vicksburg Cruisers Club for many years and enjoyed his involvement in their yearly car shows, and he was also a lifetime member of both the National Street Rod Association and the Studebaker Club of America.

 Bobby was a Christian. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Sandra Ables Reed, his son, Robert Reed (Karen), his daughter Robin Harvey (Jae), his grandchildren are Kathy, Erin, Lauren, Megan, Haley, and Claire, his sister, Deannie Luke, and 5 brothers, Billie Reed (Anna), Joe Reed, Jerry Reed (Glenda), Dannie Reed (Connie), and Gene Reed (Sherri). In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Randall Reed. 

Services will be held at Triumph Church on Monday, February 15, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will precede the service from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers are Joe Chris Ables, Joey Ables, Ted Holman, Ed Holman, Larry Lewis, Jeff Powell, Dan Eng, and Carl Vreison. Honorary Pallbearers are Dan Johns, George Downing, Cliff Grey, Sammy Stokes, Richard Ahlvin, Ralph Allison, Chris Farrar, and Bubba Strawn.
